PRINCE EDWARD
SCENIC SPLENDOR
The luxurious Prince Edward room has the best view as any in Annapolis Royal. From here you can see the natural world wonder of the 8 meter (26 feet) tides of the Annapolis Basin and stunning sunsets over the North Mountain. The room honours a distinguished guest, Prince Edward of the United Kingdom.
Unique to this room is a museum quality painting of Prince Edward’s ancestor – a 1590 portrait of King Henry V.
The room is appointed with authentic Georgian and Louis XIV furnishings. A pencil post Stearns & Foster bed, down pillows and duvet with high quality luxurious linens ensure a sleep fit for Royalty.

PRINCESS LOUISE
TRADITIONAL CHARM
The bright Princess Louise room has a water view of the Annapolis Basin and is beautifully appointed with 17th and 18th century antiques as well as a queen-sized Stearns & Foster bed. The room honours Princess Louise of the United Kingdom. Princess Louise would have visited in 1880, but was injured in a sleigh accident and had to cancel most of her public engagements. Fortunately, we still hosted her husband, the Duke of Argyll.
The principle painting in Princess Louise’s room is an 1892 portrait by Rudolf Swoboda, one of Queen Victoria’s favourite artists. Princess Louise would have known Swoboda’s work well as her childhood home, Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, has dozens of his works on display.

DAME MARIE DE BELLEISLE
EMPREINTES D'HISTOIRE
The French inspired Dame Marie de Belleisle room overlooks the English garden. The room honours Dame Marie Saint Étienne de la Tour de Belleisle, the daughter, step-daughter, daughter-in-law and wife of four Governors of Acadia. As Lady (Seigneuresse) of Port Royal and Les Mines, she once owned the entire Annapolis valley between Digby and Grand Pré. Prior to the building of the Bailey House, she had a private residence here with a garden and waterfront.
This room features the most historic furniture of the bedrooms, including items from the Tudor, Stuart and Louis XIII periods. The room features an elegant pencil post queen-sized bed. The paintings in the room include authentic medieval and 18th century French baroque.

DUKE OF BRUNSWICK
HERZLICHES WILLKOMMEN
This room honours King George III of the United Kingdom, the reigning monarch when the Bailey House was built. The King had numerous titles, including Duke of Brunswick (German: Herzog von Braunschweig und Lüneburg) due to his estates in Germany. The Province of New Brunswick was named after him.
This room is filled with genuine 17th, 18th and 19th century portraits of the many relations of the Dukes of Brunswick. The room’s furnishings honour the King’s German and Dutch connections.
