EMPREINTES D'HISTOIRE

Dame Marie de Belleisle's Room
Honouring Dame Marie Saint Étienne de la Tour de Belleisle. The daughter, stepdaughter, daughter-in-law and wife of four French Royal governors of Acadia. In 1686, her house was near the back of the Bailey House property. This house was likely destroyed by the English in 1690 and another house, built approximately where the Bailey House is now. This newer building appears to have stood until at least 1753.
This room features the most historic furniture of the bedrooms, including items from the Tudor, Stuart and Louis XIII periods. The room features an elegant pencil post queen-sized bed. The paintings in the room are authentic 18th century French baroque.
A hearty breakfast in the Georgian dining room is included with your stay.
