The Dame Marie Room has a comfortable, well-proportioned feel, with an outlook towards the garden side of Bailey House. Antiques and traditionally made furnishings give the room a collected character, while crisp white bedding keeps it feeling light and fresh. It is an easy room to settle into—unassuming, individual and very much part of the old house.
A private ensuite with shower adjoins the room.
The room is named for Dame Marie de Saint-Étienne de La Tour de Belleisle, who lived at Port-Royal in the seventeenth century and was the wife of Alexandre Le Borgne de Belle-Isle, Seigneur of Port-Royal and Governor of Acadia. According to research into the history of the property, Dame Marie and her family lived on or immediately beside the lands that later became the Bailey House.
