Meet your Hosts

We hope you enjoy your stay at the Bailey House as much as we enjoy preparing it for you.

Proud to be the steward’s of Canada’s Most Historic Inn.

Rod and Julie took over over the stewardship of the Bailey House Inn in 2024. It was a big decision as the Bailey House has been an icon of Annapolis Royal since 1832 when it was first transformed into an inn by the renowned “Marm” Bailey.

Originally from small-town Ontario, Rod spent the first several years of his career working in hospitality in Canada and the US. For almost 25 years he has worked in healthcare in Canada, England and Belgium.  Julie was born on the Gaspé and is a teacher and busy mum.

While in Belgium, Rod and Julie not only acquired new culinary skills, but also a collection of 17th and 18th century antiques and art. Rod studied art restoration in Flanders and you will usually find he has a project on the go.
