OVERLOOKING THE BASIN
One of the larger rooms at Bailey House, the Prince Edward Room overlooks the Annapolis Basin with space to read or simply watch the changing water.
The room is furnished with antique and traditionally made pieces, including Stuart, Georgian and Louis XIV furnishings. The queen pencil-post bed has a Stearns & Foster mattress dressed in high-thread-count 100% cotton bed linens. A private ensuite shower, Egyptian cotton bathrobes, Canadian Oneka bath products and a Dyson hairdryer provide the modern comforts of the room.
The room is named for Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Strathearn, father of Queen Victoria, who spent a number of years in Nova Scotia at the end of the eighteenth century.
Among the room’s furnishings is a late-sixteenth-century portrait of King Henry V, based on an earlier royal portrait.
