In 2024, Rod and Julie assumed the stewardship of the Bailey House Inn — an icon of Annapolis Royal since its 1832 debut as a premier guest house under the legendary “Marm” Bailey.

With a career spanning the hospitality and healthcare sectors across Canada, the United States, and Europe, Rod brings a global perspective to the estate’s 400-year history. His years spent living in England and Belgium cultivated a deep appreciation for Continental heritage, leading to the acquisition of the estate’s private collection of 17th and 18th-century Flemish antiques and fine art.

A scholar of the past, Rod studied the meticulous art of restoration in Flanders. Today, he continues this work within the manor’s walls, ensuring that every architectural detail and period piece is preserved with museum-quality care.
