STAY

A Few Days at the Bailey House

Bailey House is a Georgian inn beside the Annapolis Basin with just four individually furnished guest rooms, breakfast in the old dining room, access to a private waterfront garden and the quiet that comes with welcoming very few guests.

Bailey House is particularly suited to travellers who value privacy, authentic historic interiors, independent restaurants and the pleasure of exploring a small historic town on foot. With only four guest rooms and a two-night minimum, the experience is quiet, personal and deliberately unhurried.

Rooms with a Sense of Place

Each bedroom at Bailey House has been furnished as an individual room rather than part of a matching collection. Antiques and traditionally made pieces sit alongside original architectural details, giving every room its own character.

Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, private ensuite bathroom, high-thread-count pure cotton linens and towels, Canadian Oneka bath products and a Dyson hairdryer. Select rooms have Stearns & Foster mattresses.

Some rooms look across the Annapolis Basin, while others overlook the gardens. All bedrooms are on the second floor and reached by stairs.

A Quiet Start to the Day

Breakfast is served around 8:30 in the old dining room, with good coffee, fresh fruit, breads and preserves, together with a changing selection of local and seasonal dishes.

After breakfast, Annapolis Royal and the surrounding coast are easily explored from the house. Our suggestions for walks, restaurants and days farther afield can be found under Dining & Exploring.

What Makes Bailey House Different?

Bailey House combines the privacy of a four-room inn with the character of a genuine historic house. Antique furnishings remain in everyday use, breakfast is served in the old dining room, and guests have access to a private waterfront garden beside the Annapolis Basin. The historic town of Annapolis Royal can be explored largely on foot.

Time to Settle In

Bailey House and Annapolis Royal reward a little time, and reservations are therefore for a minimum of two nights. A longer stay leaves room for the Bay of Fundy coast, Acadian communities, gardens, galleries, wineries and whale-watching harbours—without turning the visit into a hurried circuit.
